Responded a local call from this range this afternoon-a male voice stated that he (or his business) may show me /help me negotiate lower interest levels with credit card companies. I told him no thanks and then he started asking personal economic questions and I hungup. I do not recall that he previously discovered who he displayed. That same number called again-this night.

These figures are scams. They'll maintain that you did not repay it and that you have an outstanding cash advance. Best yet, they claim that they'll offer you until the end of the afternoon to pay the total amount (between $500-$800) and if you don't they'll have the sheriff pick you up at the job and arrested.
